The process uses air as feed gas. The selected carbon molecular sieve has much higher affinity for O2 molecules than N2 molecules. Also, the carbon molecular sieve adsorbs O2 molecules at an elevated pressure, and releases O2 at a reduced pressure. This completes a cycling operation of adsorption-desorption process, resulting in carbon molecular sieve regeneration and accumulation of product N2 stream at the end of the adsorbing device.
